Jean DeRosa has continued the tradition of a long line of great cooks, generations in fact, in the central New Jersey area. Jean being born and raised in and around the restaurant/food business...her parents owning the popular DeRosa's Bakery/Restaurant in Bound Brook, NJ for years, where Foodies in search of that elusive taste of perfection would travel all the way from Pennsylvania just to buy bread. From an early age, exposure to from-scratch food preparation, fine dining, impeccable service to customers and just making people's taste buds feel good, paid off for her. After receiving rave reviews as a professional chef-caterer, Jean knew that cooking would be her calling; following in the footsteps of previous generations of her family of origin. She honors her "Old Country" roots.
Over the years stints in food service management, Consultant and manager to a major coffee and tea company in north Jersey, as an executive chef for a major hotel chain, the business owner of a fine private catering firm, published catering consultant, sauté chef for a four-star posh private country club and cooking for celebrities and politicians as well as private individuals, the award-winning "Jean DeRo" has built quite a following. Jean has serviced the needs of such Fortune 500 and Corporate 2000 B&I clients as AT&T, New Jersey Television Network, Welcome Wagon International, Travelers Insurance, Curves International as well as the Irma M. Fritschman Memorial High Tea. Jean holds notable Certifications/Memberships : WBE - Women's Business Enterprise, WOSB- Woman Owned Small Business, SBE- Small Business Enterprise, International Charcuterie Association.
After semi-retiring from the busy food circuit, Jean spends much time and energy devoted to her beloved Terra Nova Garden Club of Edison. She has served twice as President and Vice president and currently spends time lecturing on gardening and fine food.
